In Mike Stoklasa became so frustrated with the film Star Trek: Generations that he made a video review explaining, humorously but in geekishly nit-picking detail, exactly why it sucked. Doing the review in his own voice felt wrong, so he narrated as Harry S. Plinkett, a pizza-roll-loving serial killer character he’d been kicking around for a few years in short films. Tweets by Damon Lindelof and Simon Pegg sent the review viral, ultimately attracting more than 3. In he teamed up with longtime collaborator Jay Bauman to create Half in the Bag , a weekly-ish review of current films intermixed with the shenanigans of the hosts’ rakish alter-egos. For two years their website Red Letter Media has boasted the most consistent source of scathingly wonderful humor in the English-speaking world. What grabbed you about the show? I started watching TNG around seasons 3 or 4. I was a little young for the first three seasons, but watching ‘The Best of Both Worlds’ really grabbed my attention. I love all trek even Enterprise not equally, but I like things about them all.

TNG is a quality show, yes. All around well written well not every episode but for the most part it’s a great show. One of the things I did like is that it took a lot of risks and deviated from the original series. Picard was a very different character than Kirk and the angle of the show was quite different, while still exploring all the thought provoking ideas the original show did. I think it still holds up today.

Given the awful reputation of the second movie, simply calling the third movie The Exorcist III implied some sort of official acknowledgement of the second one, that it was «canon» even if the movie itself turned out to completely ignore it.
Why they didn’t call the movie «The Exorcist: Legion» or «Legion: The Exorcist» or something inspired by the original novel sequel’s title is a head scratcher, but for whatever reason back in the day Hollywood felt like sequels just had to have numbers in the title.
BrunoMattei said:. Reactions: Uncanny Valley. I think IT was as close to a mainstream event as is possible nowadays and it was very bigbut that is yet another overly-praised just okay film. That said, modern society doesn’t really allow for films to have the resonance that they once did because they get forgotten more quickly. It’s why Marvel has been so successful escaping that by doing its cinematic universe shit. RumblyTumbly said:. Not only was doing a prequel to The Exorcist completely pointless, but it lacked any of the subtlety or realism that made the original work.
This had hack ass horror movie written all over it from the word go and that’s what we got. The «twist» reveal left me laughing my ass off.

Anyway this movie looks bat shit crazy and I get where Mike is coming from with kind of admiring it. I feel like Jay was right though to point out the rocking was probably him trying to portray autism whereas Mike thought it was more like the rocking a person in a straight jacket in a padded room does. This character feels more autistic then. I don’t usually side with Jay on reviews but I’m going to on this one, I’m not seeing much value here and it looks bad.
Watching the clips was enough for me, I can’t image sitting through a whole movie with that much cringe and fake autism. Also felt kind of bad when Mike said I get it in regards to the celebrity guy’s feelings of wanting the crazy fan to go away.
Wonder how many real life regal fans have come up to him screaming what’s wrong with your faaaaace. Dude probably doesn’t even go to the store anymore.

And anytime anyone brought it up he implied it wasn’t his choice to stop. If he wants his own streaming show whatever, I won’t watch it but I’m glad he has a choice to do it if that’s what he wants. Could you have been content working for The Man? I have a film degree, but I never did an internship or really pursued a specific avenue in any field. After I graduated, the first monfy I did was make a feature film starring talking fruits and vegetables that no one wanted to watch. Then I went on to shoot concerts, music videos, weddings. For some reason I just wanted to work on my own even if it meant making little to no money. But eventually Jay and I started our own video production company because it seemed like a good way to transition our enjoyment of making videos into making a living.
